What we collect, why, who we share it with and how we protect it. TidyPaws is a Snug Lane store operated by 2629489 Alberta Inc..
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from snuglane.com and the Snug Lane stores (TidyPaws, PounceLab, CrateHaven, Tuckhouse and WhiskerLoft), including checkout.snuglane.com, and what we do with it.
Who we are
The stores are operated by 2629489 Alberta Inc. (trading as Snug Lane), 330 Bulyea Rd, Edmonton, AB T6R 0W8, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Questions: support@snuglane.com or +1 (587) 568-8507.
What we collect
- Order details you give us at checkout: name, email address, shipping address, phone number (used by the carrier to arrange delivery) and the items you bought.
- Payment details: your card is entered on a Stripe-hosted checkout page and processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number or security code; we only see limited details such as card brand, last four digits, country and whether the payment succeeded.
- Messages you send us, for example about a return or a damaged item, including any photos.
- Basic technical data when you browse: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring site, recorded by our hosting provider Cloudflare for security, and by Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate visit counts. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not follow you across other websites.
- Your cart is saved in your own browser (local storage) so it survives a page refresh. It is not sent to us until you check out.
How we use it
- To take payment, send your order to the warehouse, ship it, and email your receipt and tracking number.
- To answer questions and handle returns, refunds, damage claims and payment disputes.
- To detect and prevent fraud (Stripe screens every payment).
- To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires.
We do not send marketing emails, we do not run a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who we share it with, and how
We share only what each party needs to do its part of your order:
- Stripe (payment processing and fraud screening) receives your payment and billing details directly when you pay.
- Our fulfilment partners: the supplier and US warehouse holding your item receive your name, shipping address, phone number and the items ordered, so they can pack and ship it.
- Shipping carriers (for example UPS, FedEx, USPS or a freight carrier) receive your name, address and phone number to deliver the package and schedule freight deliveries.
- Service providers that run our systems: Cloudflare (website hosting and security) and Google (email and order records). They process the data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Authorities or professional advisers when the law requires it, or to protect our rights (for example to answer a chargeback or a lawful request).
Information is disclosed electronically over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, through the partner's own systems or by email. Our providers may store and process it in Canada, the United States or other countries where they operate.
How we protect it
- Every page, and the checkout, runs over HTTPS.
- Card data is handled only by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1; it never touches our servers.
- Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders, and our accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as Canadian tax law requires (generally six years after the end of the tax year) and support emails for up to two years after your last order. After that we delete or anonymize them.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it (except records we must keep for tax, accounting or dispute purposes). Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws can use the rights those laws give them the same way, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. Email support@snuglane.com from the address you ordered with; we reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
Cookies
Our stores do not set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie, and Stripe's checkout page uses its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud.
Children
Our stores are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new date. Last updated: September 29, 2026.
